Maryland DNR Seeks Info on Equestrian Use

Tonight, June 19th @ 6-8pm: Central Region Meeting

Howard County Robinson Nature Center: 6692 Cedar Lane; Columbia, MD.

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR)- seeks info on equestrian and other recreational use.  The meeting and survey will help DNR determine which outdoor recreation facilities, programs and services do and do not meet the needs of the community. Areas include State parks, forests, wildlife areas and trails.

  1. If the information is just a survey (whoever comes to meetings gives his opinion) it should not be used to make decisions about closing equestrian parks in areas that seem to have low use. Also, restricting horses in water sheds that seem to have high use is another problem. Just concerned about information collection in general but especially when it is unscientifically collected.
